Inspired by the lack of financial literacy in his community, Dwain made a commitment to educate himself academically in the study of finance. Today, he leverages that knowledge in his interactions with clients of all backgrounds. Dwain said, “My thirst for knowledge has led to a fulfilling career where I’ve helped families, retirees, business owners, professionals and faith-based institutions thrive, and developing long-lasting relationships is of utmost importance.”

Dwain holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from Oral Roberts University and has more than 25 years’ experience in wealth management, retirement planning and financial services. Dwain founded Phelps Financial Group in 2008, and in addition to his duties as a business owner, he works diligently with clients to help provide solutions and identify potential weak links in their investment and retirement strategies. He works with Advisors Excel, a leading field marketing organization, to offer products and services from major carriers of insurance and financial products to help his clients succeed.

Dwain is passionate about financial literacy and combating money myths, and that enthusiasm is reflected in his work with the individuals and families who experience his warm, fun-loving and logic-based approach to retirement planning. He is a consistent contributor of financial literacy content for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Yahoo! Finance, HuffPost, AARP and Kiplinger.

Dwain has been married for over 25 years to his wife, Tanya, and remains active in the lives of his three children, Jalen, Victoria and Maia.
